Following the announcement of the arrival of Resident Evil Village on iPhone and iPad during the recent Apple keynote, Capcom has disclosed that the game will be accessible on the Apple App Store on October 30, just in time for the Halloween season.
The game will specifically be compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air, and iPad devices, as it operates using the latest devices’ A17 chipset. The game will be released on the App Store for a price of $39.99, with the option to separately purchase the Winters Expansion for $19.99. Additionally, those who acquire both will receive a new outfit for Rose in the downloadable content (DLC).

Capcom has also confirmed that the Resident Evil 4 remake, which was launched on consoles and PC in March, will be available on iPhone and iPad “later this year,” although a specific release date has not been announced. Both RE Village and RE4 will utilize Apple’s Universal Purchase technology and enable cross-progression on iPhone and iPad. However, the RE4 port will also allow for cross-progression with the Mac version.
The two Resident Evil games were unveiled for iOS devices at the September 12 Apple keynote, alongside Death Stranding and Assassin’s Creed Mirage. During the event, Apple highlighted that the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max offer “next-level mobile gaming with fast, efficient performance and hardware-accelerated ray tracing,” and early previews demonstrate their ability to connect directly to a monitor with favorable outcomes.
Resident Evil Village initially launched on consoles on May 7, 2021. GameSpot’s official review described it as “a clever reintroduction of the finest action elements of Resident Evil,” while also acknowledging that it “captures some of the same qualities that made RE7 so refreshing, Village evolves to become its own distinct entity.”
