Ubisoft has announced that a total of 10 older titles will have their online services terminated on January 25, 2024.
Included in the list are several Assassin’s Creed games for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, which will no longer support multiplayer, Ubisoft account linking, or Ubisoft Connect rewards starting in January. Other affected titles include Splinter Cell: Conviction for Xbox 360, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for PC, Trials Evolution for PC, and more.
In a blog post announcing the shutdown, Ubisoft states, “Decommissioning the online services for older games is a decision we take seriously, but it is necessary as the technology supporting these services becomes outdated.”
Here is the complete list of titles affected by the shutdown:
- Assassin’s Creed II – Xbox 360
- Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood – MAC
- Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD – PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
- Assassin’s Creed Revelations – PC
- Ghost Recon Future Soldier – PC
- Heroes of Might and Magic VI – PC
- NCSI – PC
- Splinter Cell: Conviction – Xbox 360
- R.U.S.E. – PC
- Trials Evolution – PC
This is not the first time Ubisoft has discontinued services for its older games. In October 2022, online services were shut down for 15 games, including Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Far Cry 3. In an earlier round of shutdowns in 2022, Ubisoft disabled online functionality for an even larger number of titles (some of which were mistakenly listed), such as Rainbow Six: Vegas and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.
